January 14, 2023 we shot at Ellis County Sportsman club in the New Years 100 American Skeet and 100 Sporting Clays DFW South tournament. 13 ACB members came out for a great day of target competition. We all shot Sporting clays on the 11am flight before the wind picked up too bad. Skeet at 2pm was a different story as the southern winds rose up to 20ish mph at times.
Everyone shot fairly well considering we did not hold any December team practices. Highlights were SCOTT MASON shooting a 97 in skeet and winning a shoot off to clinch the Men’s Varsity First Place Medal. He shot a 22 the first round and then 75 STRAIGHT for the first time ever! Way to go Scott, very proud of you son! DEAN GALLAHER also medaled! He shot a 78 in sporting clays to win the SECOND PLACE MEDAL. Craig Mason shot the first 25 targets Straight in Skeet which is his first 25 in Skeet at a competition. Our Team placed 5th out of the 9 teams present for HOA.
